The Language of Money

The afternoon, moderated by Dr Anna Vogel, opened with Michelle Amoakoh’s keynote “The Language of Money”.

She showed how abstract financial concepts can become tangible and why it is so important to truly understand one’s own financial situation. Using concrete examples from everyday and professional life, she demonstrated how strongly language shapes access to financial topics.

Key message
Financial education works best when it is communicated in an understandable, practical and empowering way.

Financial education as a shared goal

A welcome address by Senator for Finance Andreas Dressel placed the event within the broader context of Hamburg’s financial education initiatives.

Financial education is a key foundation for an independent life and a fairer society. Initiatives aimed specifically at young women therefore play an important role for FCH and its shareholders.

04

Sharing knowledge and building community

Your Money, Your Move 2026 showed how much energy can emerge when knowledge is shared and a safe space is created for questions and experiences.

The event was therefore not only an information format, but also a contribution to building a community in which financial topics can be discussed openly and on equal terms.
